TALKS

The Academic Forum, every Thursday, organizes a number of talks, discussions and presentations on a variety of subjects. In the year 2004, in keeping with the theme ‘Kaleidoscope:

  • Insights into India’, it organized a variety of events, with the aim exploring
    different aspects of our country:

  • Talk by Ms. Teesta Setalvad, Human Rights Activist, on COMMUNAL HARMONY IN INDIA: THE POST GODHRA SCENARIO.

  • Open Forum for the students to present their views on and discuss the issue of the STEREOTYPED PORTRAYAL OF COLLEGE AND COLLEGE STUDENTS BY THE INDIAN MEDIA

  • Lecture-cum-demonsration by Ms. Leela Samson, one of India's foremost Exponents of Bharatnatyam and her students.

  • Talk by Ms. Shubha Mudgal, renowned vocalist on THE POSITION OF CLASSICAL MUSIC IN THE INDIAN CONTEXT TODAY.

  • Lecture-cum-demonstration by Mr. Barry John, well-known theatre personality and his students.

  • Talk by Mr. D. Raghunandan of the Delhi Science Forum, on the NGO movement in India Today.

  • Screening of documentary film, ‘Three Women and a Camera’, made by Sabeena Gadihoke and Shohini Ghosh.

All Departments and Societies organize a number of events during the year to provide students with a wholistic perspective on issues that concern the student body.
