quantitative language of the social, biological and physical sciences,
statistics is the only Department that offers a Bachelors of Science (B.Sc.)
course. Keeping in view the increasing role of statistics in diverse areas and
its importance in marketing, finance and strategy-making, students are trained
to acquire tools in the areas of applied statistics, statistical methods and
analysis. Students learn to engage with sample surveys, econometrics,
biostatistics and operations research. The faculty is known for its extensive
publications in various national and international journals. A dedicated team of
faculty members and enthusiastic students regularly organize workshops and paper
accounting, the Commerce course positions presentations for intellectual
enrichment. Various career options are available in areas of quality control for
industries, biotechnology, market research, corporate planning, banking, trade,
