One of the
most sought after courses, Sociology provides a 'total' learning experience
incorporating real world experiences and events with classroom discussion and
analysis. Community outreach, workshops andseminars are interwoven into the
workday of sociology students. Field trips are regularly organized for primary
research work. The focus areas are anthropology, gender studies and culture
studies. The annual academic meet, KULA, provides a platform for students to
engage in debates on topics like youth culture, popular cinema, the vision of
the nation. This is an excellent course for those considering careers in law,
journalism, academics and the NGO sector. |
