One of the earliest Departments
to be established in the College, many of its faculty members, both then and
now, are well-known authors. The faculty is versatile and blends modernity with
tradition. The course is extensive and students graduate with a thorough
knowledge of ancient, medieval and modern Hindi literature. Students are also
equipped with a theoretical understanding of various aspects of language. They
are encouraged to participate in intercollege elocution and creative writing
competitions to hone their skills in these fields. To create awareness within
the larger college community of the rich heritage of Hindi literature, the
Department organizes an annual Hindi week long symposium, in which poets,
novelists and scholars are invited to interact with students and faculty. |
