You are welcome to visit the unit and we will be happy to answer your admission-related queries.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO LSR

  • Candidates who have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class 12) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or a recognised equivalent examination are eligible to apply.

  • If you are applying for an undergraduate course, you have to be at least 17 years old on or before October 1, in the year in which you are seeking admission. A relaxation of up to one year will be accepted subject to the approval of the Vice Chancellor.

  • For all applicants, the aggregate required for admission will be calculated on the basis of marks secured in English, which is the medium of instruction (except for Sanskrit), and three other elective subjects. For admission in Sanskrit, a student has the option of including any language other than English in her ‘best four’ total.

  • For admission to Commerce or Economics, one of the subjects in Class 12 must be mathematics. However, mathematics need not be included in the ‘best four’ total.

  • Admissions to Bachelor of Elementary Education are done through an entrance examination and interview conducted by the Central Institute of Education (CIE) in the main University Campus. To find out the details refer to the information booklet available at CIE.

  • Apart from these general criteria, different departments have evolved their specific criteria. These details are available in the ‘Guidelines for Evaluation of Merit’ that is attached to this bulletin.

  • Meeting the above requirements does not automatically guarantee the applicant’s admission to the course of her choice. Canvassing of any kind will disqualify the candidate. The decision of the admission committee and the Principal in this regard will be final.

  • Attention Parents and Guardians

We expect applicants to LSR to be capable of handling the admission formalities on their own. We treat your wards as adults, please give us reason to retain this confidence.
