ALUMNA DIRECTORY

1. Dear Alumna,                                                                    07 February 2006

Several of you had pointed out that a simple Google search reveals all  your personal details from the Alumna List, such as Tel No., address etc. In order to end this we have now introduced a system of User Id and Password protection to enter the Alumna List. With this measure it will not be possible to see the contents of the Alumna List unless you login with a valid User Id and Password.

After thinking long and hard on how to implement this measure we decided that the best way was for you to choose a user id (minimum four and maximum eight letters, a mix of CAPITALS & lower case letters is best) and password (at least eight digits or up to maximum 12 digits, alpha numeric style is best ) and intimate the same to us by Email ASAP.

An example of user id and password is given below:

User Id: ADuttA      Password: Aban345T

(Please note that no spaces are allowed and please do not use special characters such as ,<>./?*£"@ etc.)

Once we receive your email we will assign the chosen user id and password and only then will you be able to access the entire Alumna List. This will also effectively ensure that the data cannot be accessed by search engines such as Google etc.

Please rest assured that we have every concern for your privacy and request you to write in immediately to help us implement this measure

2. Dear Alumna,                                                                  03 November 2005

You will be glad to know that we are engaged in compiling & printing a new Alumna Directory containing all names right from 1956 onwards. To do this we have captured all the Alumnae names in our database from the College records, i.e. all those who graduated from 1959 right up to 2005. (Approx 20,000 names) 

However, there is one big drawback! Several of you had since graduation changed your surnames after getting married and your present addresses are also different now. Of course several of you have sent in your names since, which are there in the Alumna List on the website, so we have your latest particulars, but for the new Directory to be authentic we need your latest particulars ASAP. 

You may do this in several ways: 

1. Go to the Alumna link on the website and fill in the form at the bottom of your graduation year list. 

2. Send us an Email at lsrc@vsnl.com or lsr_alumna@rediffmail.com 

3. Send us a letter. (Alumna Cell, Lady Shri Ram Collge for Women, Lajpat Nagar IV, New Delhi 110024 India)

4. Just phone in and give us the particulars.

5. Tell a friend to tell us! 

The more of you who send in your latest particulars will ensure a most up to date and authentic directory. Remember, the Directory is for private circulation and will be circulated among our Alumnae only. So please do respond to this message, tell a colleague, do anything, but send us the names and particulars. 

The deadline for receiving the names is 31 Dec 2007

3. Dear Alumna,                                                                                 01 July 2004

The entire rationale for creating the Alumna List on our website was to provide a means for all of you to be able to get in touch with each other easily. For example say you are visiting abroad or out of station in India and find that a colleague happens to be living there. You may get in touch to renew old acquaintance or call just to say hello!

But several of you send in your request to be placed on the list without giving us any means to get in touch –– no address, no phone number, no email id –– thus defeating the very purpose of the Alumna List. You will agree that we should have at least one means of getting in touch with you. So in order to be on the list please do provide us with at least one parameter –– address or phone number or email id.

We have the facility to block any particulars that you do not wish to display against your name, so you should not hesitate to send us the particulars for our record at the College. You can block any detail by placing an asterisk (*) against it. You may rest assured that we will not display any detail that you wish to block.

Another detail you should bear in mind. When you fill in the form at the end of the page in your graduation year, your name does not automatically get into the Alumna List. We get an email request when you click the 'Submit' button, and thereafter the name is put up after due checking with the College records. This way we avoid spurious entries. You will be surprised to know that several entries are received where the person concerned was not an Alumna of this college!
